Rooms are tastefully decorated in typical western-style with some even including huge log fireplaces for those clear winter evenings.The superb Herron Bend Guest Home includes some extravagant touches like a games room, patio with an outdoor fireplace and a theatre room. A visit to Texas wouldn’t be complete without some genuine Texan cuisine. Dinner Bell is the ranch’s steakhouse serving a wide variety of local favourites and specialities that include hand-cut, mesquite grilled steaks, chicken fried steak and jumbo shrimp.
Activities in this North Texan Hill Country start with horseback riding but certainly don’t end there. There are 25 miles of trails to explore on horseback and guests can choose to join a group ride or enjoy a private riding experience with a real Texan cowboy. There’s a sport clay shooting range and opportunities to try archery or discover more about the fascinating history of this area with a historic Jeep tour.
